As we sit and reminisce about our time on the Om On Yoga Retreat at Los Poblanos led by Yogini Laura Mcneill, instantly we are back at this enchanted place in the North Valley of New Mexico. We can hear the sweet sounds of nature always near and the relaxing smell of lavender in the air. Our time there couldn’t have been more perfect and the tribe of women more divine!
Laura and I arrived after one of those early morning departures from the East Coast and immediately took to the sun and the colors present in the historic hacienda architecture.
We started our first morning out in the lavender fields smelling the sweet smell and taking our sense of hearing on a journey through a sound bath with singing bowls and chimes.
Breakfast is served. A Retreat Fave: Eggs Benedict. Meals at the Inn are such a delight for the senses and couldn’t be more fresh as they are consistently sourced from nearby farms using what is local and in-season.
A highlight of our Farm Tour with Farmer Travis: Alpacas… This one is 3 generations of women: Grandma-Mom-Grandchild. Grandma not pictured.
We closed out our first day with an Ayurvedic Cooking Class with Head Chef Elizabeth who is training at Dr. Vasant Lad’s Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque.
Day 2 began with a Sensory Journey through the incredible Rose Gardens led by Christa Obuchowski, founder of AromaBotanica Institute in Santa Fe.
Christa: Natropath, Botanist, Herbalist, and Rose Connoisseur
Each rose was picked with delicacy and an intention was set before placing it in the copper pot where we would begin the distillation into beautiful rose water and perfumes.
Our daily yoga practice was Alfresco on the beautiful lush grounds of Los Poblanos.
No trip would be complete without a stop in the Farm Shop!
